MMPC-Live NewMAP program
With NewMAP, we are committed to empowering the next generation of pioneering investigators. Our mission is to support and accelerate the scientific breakthroughs of New Investigators through access to MMPC-Live services. We stand as a catalyst for innovation, providing these emerging leaders with unparalleled resources, expertise, and a collaborative network that transforms promising ideas into impactful discoveries in metabolic and animal physiology research in live mouse models.

NewMAP investigator eligibility criteria:

MMPC-Live clients that are a New Investigator as defined by the NIH* are eligible for NewMAP benefits.

  • An MMPC-Live eligible client is a New Investigator as defined by the NIH*, and
  • The New Investigator's institution does NOT have an NIDDK-funded MMPC-Live program or an animal physiology/metabolic phenotyping core that provides similar services.
*A PD/PI who has not previously competed successfully as a PD/PI for a substantial independent research award is considered a New Investigator. For example, a PD/PI who has previously received a competing NIH R01 research grant is no longer considered a New Investigator. However, a PD/PI who has received a Small Grant (R03) or an Exploratory/Developmental Research Grant Award (R21) retains his or her status as a New Investigator. The list of NIH grants that a PD/PI can hold and still be considered a New Investigator can be found here.

NewMAP Resources:
