Experiment

Circulating insulin and HbA1c levels in Lepr KO mice treated with derivatives of
niclosamide
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Shengkan, Jin
Description BKS.Cg-Dock7m +/+ Leprdb/J mice received daily oral gavage of vehicle or 5mg/kg
body weight of WX53 or 10mg/kg body weight of Y03 for 3 weeks. 5 hour-fasted
blood was collected through tail vein bleeding at the end of the treatment.
Plasma was obtained by centrifugation at 1000g for 10-15min at 4? , and stored
at -80? for further analysis. WX53 and Y03 are from a group of mitochondrial
uncouplers that can stimulates oxygen consumption. Hypothesis: oral
administration of mitochondrial uncouplers could reduce blood glucose level and
improve insulin resistance. The objective of the study is to investigate the
effect of mitochondrial uncouplers on the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
