Experiment

Circulating lipid levels of B6 mice treated with niclosamide, cholestyramine,
and metformin
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Shengkan, Jin
Description We had the C57BL6/J mice randomized into 5 groups. These mice were all fed on
high-fat diet. Group 1 is controls without any treatment. Group 2 is niclosamide
treatment group with oral treatment of niclosamide mixed into diet 2000ppm.
Group 3 in metformin treatment group with oral treatment of metformin in water
to achieve dosage of 75 mg/kg/d. Group 4 is synergistic treatment group with
both niclosamide treatment group with oral treatment of niclosamide mixed into
diet 2000ppm plus 20000ppm cholestyramine mixed into diet. Group 5 is
synergistic treatment group with both niclosamide treatment group with oral
treatment of niclosamide mixed into diet 2000ppm plus 20000ppm cholestyramine
mixed into diet and metformin treatment. Blood samples were collected at age of
36 weeks after 5 hour fast. Each sample contains ~50 micro liters of plasma.
