Strain
B6.Cg-Scd1tm2Ntam Tg(KRT14-cre)1Amc

Summary Data Summary
Official Name B6.Cg-Scd1tm2Ntam Tg(KRT14-cre)1Amc
Common Name Scd1 SKO
Description Scd1 lox: A 0.7 kb fragment encoding exon 3 was flanked 5'
with a loxP site and 3' with a floxed neo cassette. No
difference was detected in protein expression or activity in
homozygous mice compared to wild-type mice.

The transgene is composed of a cre recombinase gene under
the control of a human keratin 14 promoter. The human KRT14
promoter directs transgene expression in hair and skin. The
transgene also contains a human growth hormone sequence and
polyadenylation signal. When crossed to a transgenic
reporter line, beta-galactosidase activity was detected in
the oral ectoderm at 11.75 dpc, and at 14.5 dpc activity is
detected in the skin and throughout the dental epithelium.
