Metabolic and Analytical Study in HFD-fed Lyz-Acat1 KO Mice
Summary Data Summary
Investigator Chang, Ta-Yuan
Description The 7 WT mice and 6 A1-M/-M mice are age and sex matched (male). They are on
special irradiated Western diet that we had provided a few months ago. We are
sending you 3 more mice on regular chow diet for quarantine purpose.

As soon as the quarantine period is over (5 weeks), please perform metabolic
cage study, body composition analysis, and blood adipocytokine analysis. (i.e.,
leptin, RANTES, resistin, and adiponectin). After these analyses are done,
members of my team will come to U MASS to collect various tissues from these
mice (WAT, Skeletal muscle, and BAT; etc). These tissues will be used to perform
gene expression analysis and Western blot analysis, to monitor possible changes
in functionality in these tissues caused by the lack of ACAT1 in macrophages.
